First Nations Emergency Plan Workshop

Target Audience

The target audience for this course is First Nations Emergency Management Coordinators and selected Senior Officials.

Description

At the end of the workshop participants will:

  • Be familiar with the services that Emergency Management Ontario provides to First Nations
  • Understand the process required to develop an emergency plan and where to obtain help
  • Know the main components of an emergency plan
  • Understand how an emergency plan is activated
  • Receive practice in using a plan by working through an emergency situation

During the workshop, participants will be able to discuss local issues and raise questions with the presenters and members of other First Nations. The opportunities to network will assist individuals by introducing them to peers with experience in developing and using emergency plans. At the end of the day, participants will take way sample plans from other communities that will assist them in developing their local plan.
