Ontario Sex Offender Registry
Who Must Register?
Mandatory registration applies to residents of Ontario who:
- have been convicted of a criteria sex offence (as defined by the legislation) in Canada and were:
- serving a sentence on the day Christopher's Law was proclaimed, or
- convicted of a sex offence on or after the legislation came into force;
- have been found not criminally responsible for a criteria sex offence by reason of a mental disorder and given an absolute or conditional discharge on or after the legislation came into force; or
- are young persons convicted of a criteria sex offence and receiving an adult sentence.
