Ontario Sex Offender Registry

Reporting Requirements

Every criteria sex offender must report in person to police in the area where they live and at the place and time set by the police service.

A criteria offender must report within 15 days

  • After being released from custody
  • After conviction, even if the sentence does not include time in jail
  • After having been found not criminally responsible and given an absolute or conditional discharge from a mental institution or hospital
  • After a change of address
  • After becoming a resident of Ontario
  • Before moving out of Ontario

A criteria offender must also report every year between the 11th and 12th month after the last time he or she reported to police.
