Ontario Sex Offender Registry
What is a criteria offence?
Criteria offences include the following current Criminal Code offences and any similar sex offences known by different names in the past:
- Sexual interference
- Invitation to sexual touching
- Sexual exploitation
- Incest
- Bestiality
- Child pornography (making, possessing, distributing)
- Parent or guardian procuring sexual activity
- Exposure in front of a child
- Sexual assault
- Sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a third party or causing bodily harm
- Aggravated sexual assault.
If someone living in Ontario has been convicted and received a sentence anywhere in Canada for one or more of these offences, that person must register with their local police.
