Inquest into the Death of Hans Peter Weimer Announced


Dr. William J. Lucas, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Brampton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Hans Peter Weimer.

Mr. Weimer, age 63, died on March 10, 2005, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Whitby. An inquest is required under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Weimer's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately six witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, at the Durham Region courthouse, 150 Bond Street East, Oshawa. Dr. John Swain will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Julie Ann Barrett will be counsel to the coroner.
