Guelph — Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Joseph Pascall.
Mr. Pascall, 36, died on July 30, 2008, from injuries received during his employment at a construction site in Mississauga. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Pascall’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last 2-3 days and to hear from approximately 7 witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the Provincial Offenses Court House, 5 Ray Lawson Blvd., Brampton. Dr. Robert Boyko will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. David Maylor will be counsel to the coroner.
