Inquest Into the Death Of Bradley James Ebbers Announced


Kingston--Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Bradley James Ebbers.

Mr. Ebbers, age 19, died on March 18, 2009, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Ottawa. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Ebbers' death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011, at 90 Sparks Street, 6th Floor, Ottawa. Dr. McNaughton-Filion will be the presiding coroner and Mr. Stephen J. Donoghue will be counsel to the coroner.
