Specialized Units
- Overall, the average daily count in the specialized units at OCDC increased by 2.4% during Q2 of the 2016/17 fiscal year.
- The average daily count in segregation increased by 8.8% while the average daily count in the special needs unit increased from an average of 4 in first quarter to 8 in the second quarter of the 2016/17 fiscal year.
- This change does not reflect a change in the conditions of confinement, rather a change in administrative tracking.
- More accurate trend analysis will be possible as future data is reported using this consistent definition of segregation space at OCDC.

Admits
Admissions with an initial status of ‘remand’ accounted for approximately 73% of all admissions, which is consistent with historical patterns.
Admissions by Gender and Status – 2015/16 - Please note that initial admission reason captures only the legal document that an inmate is admitted to custody on. It does not capture change in status (e.g. if an inmate is admitted on a remand warrant and the status changes to sentenced, the inmate is counted only in the remand total).
