Information sessions for new correctional facilities

Information sessions for new correctional facilities

Ontario is transforming its adult correctional system by investing in new correctional facilities to support better outcomes for individuals in custody. This investment will replace aging institutions and reduce overcrowding. It will also help to keep our communities safe while ensuring those in our custody are held in safe and secure conditions that respect human rights and maintains dignity for all.

Planning is currently underway with projects in Thunder Bay and Ottawa that are being overseen and managed by Infrastructure Ontario. We are engaging with staff, and justice, community as well as Indigenous partners through information sessions to receive feedback throughout its design and development.
